Trimming Lizard Claws

Bearded dragons (and other large lizards') claws should be trimmed regularly, roughly every month or so. This is to prevent the claws over growing & curling under the toes, potentially causing pain or discomfort. Generally, if they are scratching your skin when you hold them, it's probably time for a trim.

How to clip bearded dragon nails?

You can use nail clippers at an angle to just trim the tip of each claw slightly - if they accidentally bleed (ouch!) you can stem the bleeding with cornflour or a styptic pencil. If you're not feeling brave enough, your reptile vet can help (or even myself if you're local!) Claw trimming is included for free (if required) for lizards when holiday boarding.
